Best cure for a rainy day is a good warm soup

Just a damp rainy day here at the ranch. But thanks to Chef we have soup and chili on the menu for lunch. We had many request for Chef Dave's Italian Tortellini Soup so he has posted the recipe on his page. Go to information page then Chef Kitchen page to find the recipe.

We are very happy to announce that we now have a Facebook page and a Linkedin Group. We are looking forward to staying connected with all our guests who use Facebook. We are working on new summer programs that are really exciting and we will be posting the information soon both here on our website and the Facebook page.

It's a beautiful sunny day here at Potter's Ranch.   Today is the last day to sign up for our free medical screening on Jan 25th. The next events through Feb are;

Admission is $15 and includes one of Chef Dave's amazing meals the that days activity. No miniumum group size or age but you must call Mike at least 7 days before the event to reserve your seat. Depending on how well these go will determine if we continue to offer these themed seniors luncheons.

New Years Blessings

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Our prayers go out to all those dealing with issues this Christmas season. We look forward to the New Year with Hope knowing that whatever life brings we will endure with Christ's Strength. May everyone have a Happy New Year and we looking forward to seeing all our friends and church families back again in 2012.

There are still a few good weekend spots available in 2012 but we are filling them fast. Just had a new weekend open up in July a couple weeks ago.

December is here

Wow, December is here. We started December with frost on everything and cold. We hope everyone had a very Blessed Thanksgiving holiday. Christmas will be here soon and snow too. The staff put up the Christmas tree and lights and are getting into the Christmas spirit. We have some special events next week with some special children and families and we are very excited.

Just a reminder the 2012 weekends are filling up fast.

Kicks for Kids

We had a beautiful weekend last weekend. The children sponsored by Kick for Kids were here and we were Blessed with a wonderful event. Thanks to all the volunteers and staff from both Kicks for Kids and Potter's Ranch for making it such a wonderful experience for everyone. End of Summer

Thank You to everyone who made our 14th Anniversary Event an amazing event. Our count of guests and volunteers for the the day was 1483 people. We are already looking forward to next year and hope everyone that came this year will bring a friend next year.

Fall is here and the leaves are beginning to turn colors. This is the best time of the year to see God's beautiful creative handywork.

14th Anniversary Event

It's hard to believe we are almost there. Tomorrow is our 14th Anniversary Event and everyone is making final preparations for this to be a Blessed event. If you have never been to one of our anniversary events this is the one to be at. Julie Pierce from Star 93 will here with their prize wheel, Stormy my English angora bunny will be here in the petting zoo, Chef Dave is debuting his funnel cakes for the first time, a new inflatable obstacle course, and 30 + other vendor booths will be here.

Good bye to Lauren Snyder

I want to wish Lauren Snyder a fond goodbye. Even though Lauren hasn't been with us very long we were all Blessed by her contribution to Potter's Ranch, especially in the equestrian program. We know God is going to continue to Bless Lauren in all she does in the future. Lauren you will be missed.

New Staff Member

Potter's Ranch wants to welcome uor new staff member Beth Long. Beth will be our first ever Growth and Development Director. This new position comes after much prayer from many people and we want to thank everyone who has prayed for this process. Now I'm asking everyone the thank God for what he has provided and ask Him to guide and direct Beth's path.

Blessed week of activities

One more day with Children's Home of Nothern Kentucky if the weather hold out. Had an exciting week of activities. Sunrise Children Services was out this week also. Not to mention catering for Star 93.3 Share-a-thon. What a blessed week here at Potter's Ranch. Our prayers of Blessing go out to Star 33.3 as they close out there last day of the share-a-thon.

CHA Clinic

Wanted to let everyone know it is official. Our Spring CHA clinic is set for May 23 - 27. We started taking reservation yesterday and already 2 spots may be filled. There is only 10 spots total for the clinic and cost $800 for the week. This includes lodging and food from Monday breakfast to Lunch on Friday. Early check ins are available for $20. The CHA Clinic is meant to test your abilities as an instructor to teach riding skills to others.

Ranch Flood

Hope to have a new picture of the month up today. We wanted to share what the flood in Northern Kentucky looks like from here. All of Shady Grove and much of the front end of the cove area is now under water. Our main road Cedar Road is still open and things here continue to go on as ussual. With the flood comes the beautiful wildfife. We have seen more beautiful cranes, duck, and geese in places we normal do not see them. Our prayers went out to every one in the eathquake and tsunami hit areas.

Treasure Hunting

We are very excited about our new geocaching sites here at Potter's Ranch. You can book a teaching session or just rent a unit for the day. Call the office to get more information. Geocaching is a fun activity you can do as an individual or as a group. Come see what treasures we have placed throughout the ranch and maybe even find the treasures Christ has put in your heart.

Children's Christmas Adventure

We had a wonderful time with the children this year. Special thanks to the staff at Collins Elementary, Boone County Businessmen's Association, Kohls, and Air Heads for their help and donations. We receive such a blessing from spending time with the children and watching them open their gifts and trying on their new coats. It is our prayer for all our guest and supporters that you all have a Very Merry Christmas.

It is a beautiful brisk Fall day here at the ranch. The view from the pump house, back fields, and prayer coral are amazing. We have a few weekends left this year if your looking to plan a fall retreat, Christmas banquet, or just a get away with your spouse. Anniversary Event

Everyone here is looking forward to our 13th Anniversary Celebration. Barbara Cain from Star 93.3 will be here to help us celebrate. Stratus Helicopters will be here providing rides by the ropes course. Christian venders from around the area will be here. Petting zoo and pony rides will be here. We will be giving boat rides, sea doo rides, ATV rides, and horse trail rides. We want to welcome the new addition the Potter's Ranch and the Gerth Family. Elliana May Gerth was born August 5th. She was 8 ibs 7 oz and 20 inches long. Mother Jayme and baby Elliana are doing well and we expect them to be home sometime this weekend. Please keep the whole family in your prayers.

Volunteers Needed

We are having a wonderful and Blessed year so far here at the ranch. If our activities so far are any indication of what our Anniversary Event is going to be like it is going to be a wonderful and exciting event. We are actively looking for volunteers to help us with the Anniversary Event, September 18 from 8am to 6pm. Help is needed with everything from helping with setting up to cleaning up after the event is over. If you are interested in volunteering e-mail me or call the office for more information or to get your name on the list. All volunteers working 4 hours or more will receive tickets for the food court and a thank you gift from us. God Bless everyone who has helped to make this ministry such a success for God's family.

New Baby Squirrels and POM

With the snow gone and the sun out all of God's beautiful creation comes alive. While opening up our 40 foot climbing wall door to start the season off we find a mother and her 4 baby squirrels all cozied up in the small space.

Quickly finding their way to the nearest tree one of our guests, Stacy Sipple, takes this shot of one of the baby squirrels checking out Potter's Ranch for the first time and of course making his debut in the photo of the month for being simply adorable.

Eagle Scout Project

Dics Golf Tournament

We want to congradulate the winners of our past disc golf tournament. Dispite the winds and falling trees everyone had a great time. The winners were;

Disc Golf Tournament

It is a beautiful day here at Potter's Ranch. I wanted to let everyone know we are taking names for our up coming Frisbee Golf tournament on April 3rd.

Also we want to welcome our new Horse Director Lauren Snyder to our team. Lauren will be officially joining us March 22nd. Keep monitoring our website for new information on our horse programs coming soon.

New on the information page is our new rate sheet. Let us know what you think of it. Lastly we have updated the Photo of the Month with a shot of Chef Dave and Chef Chris in their Hawaiian Luau getup preparing a delicious pig for the evening.
